Feed a Rhinoceros
Legend has it that a rhinoceros will stomp out a fire if it comes across one in the wild. Their fire fighting ability lends these lumbering beasts a certain amount of dignity — even if it is just legend.
One organization that goes around the world stomping out the fires of hunger is Concern International. An Irish humanitarian non-profit, Concern has been fighting global poverty for decades. The conflict in the Swat Valley of Pakistan has displaced an estimated 2.5 million people. Local Taleban groups are fighting with the Pakistani state for control of this normally lush, bucolic region.
If you’d like to act like a rhino and stomp out a fire, think about giving some money to Concern Usa. I helped raise $1500 for the organization back in April with friends. They’re good people, doing good work.
